Megan graduated from Wayne State University Law School in 1994 and joined PDMMP in May 2000. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for Helveston & Associates, where she specialized in employment law. As a law student, Megan not only worked full-time as a law clerk at Sachs Waldman, but she participated in the National Moot Court team, where she competed nationally in the Justice International Law Competition. Focused and outspoken in the area of human and civil rights, while still in law school, Megan was awarded a research scholarship at Warwick University in Coventry, England, where she wrote a thesis tracing the evolution of sex harassment law in England. Today, Megan continues to dedicate a portion of her practice to helping victims of sexual harassment.

As an undergraduate, Megan attended Kalamazoo College, where she had a dual major in political science and french literature. Following the completion of her senior thesis project, Megan was awarded the Bruce E. Butcher Award for her outstanding achievement in political science. After having spent one year as a student at the University of Caen, France, Megan was hired by the French Government to teach English to business students in Strasbourg, France at the Lycee Ren’e Cassin. After living and teaching in France for over one year, Megan was thereafter hired by the University of Michigan School of Social Research where she worked on a research team. Megan belongs to numerous professional organizations, including the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association. From 1991 to 2001, Megan served as a board member of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Megan is dedicated to giving back to her community through a variety of pro bono projects and volunteering. In addition to her current work as a volunteer attorney for the Epilepsy Foundation, she is also a house sponsor for Jimmy Carter Work Project through Habitat for Humanity. In 2004, Megan and a group of friends auctioned over one hundred pieces of art from Detroit’s finest artists to benefit the Jimmy Carter Work Project in Veracruz, Mexico. In addition to house sponsorship, Megan spent one week building “The House that Art Built” in Veracruz alongside a team of her friends and citizens from across the globe. Megan hopes to participate in the 2006 Jimmy Carter Project in India.

Megan has a variety of interests. She enjoys art, photography, traveling, biking, gardening, running, yoga and her dog, Thursday. She is fluent in French.
